Join the Launch Crew and help turn the space into the Neighbor’s Pub!

  • Essential Duties + Responsibilities 
    Tasks will include deep cleaning, disinfecting, preparing for painting and maintenance, assembling furniture, gardening, and decorating. Tasks may include sanding, painting, assembling and installing equipment, installing artwork, installing doors, light renovations or repairs, and other tasks as assigned.

    Basic Qualifications 
    At least 21 years of age. 
    Familiarity with safe practices relating to the role.
    Any experience in cleaning, organizing, redecorating, or renovations, especially in a commercial setting is helpful!
    Ability to perform any tasks and requirements of the job.
    Flexibility to work with a short notice is highly desired. This role is limited-term/ project-based. Shifts will likely take place throughout the weekend and during evenings on weeknights.
    Excellent communication and teamwork skills  
    Ability to effectively solve problems and multi-task in high-paced environments  


    Knowledge 
    Education directly related to the role is a plus. 
    Understanding of the Neighbor's Pub, vision, and recent history within the community is a plus.
    Understanding of Santa Cruz, especially of the local LGBTQ+ history and community, is a plus. 

    Language Skills 
    Able to communicate in English. 

    Physical Demands     
    May be required to bend, squat, or stand for long periods. May need to lift heavy items, solo or with others. The environment may get dusty or have strong smells of paint or cleaning products.

  • Applications are now open!

    The Neighbor’s Pub is expected to open in summer 2024. The exact date is to be determined due to the permitting process and time it will take to revamp the space.

    An interview process may take place depending on the volume of applicants. This will likely start in April.

    The Launch Crew might begin as early as May. The shifts will likely take place over the course of one to two weeks, likely in the evenings and throughout the weekends. Applicants accepted into the Launch Crew will be given as much notice as possible for the availability of shifts.
